After Christ

“Show Me Lord” Kevin T. ‘07
Show me Lord, let me see, the road you created just for me.
Hold me Lord, let me know, where it is you want me to go.
Take my fears and doubts away, give me strength to praise your name.
Let your peace bathe my soul, cleanse my heart of unknown.
take my sins, Your Son has paid,
the price of mercy through suffering and pain.
You gave Him up to Calvary, He died that day, to live in me.
Teach me Lord, let me see how to praise Your Holy name,
Help me Lord, let me know, how to show, I love You so.
Take my fears and doubts away, use my weakness to glorify You.
Let Your peace wash my soul, cleanse my heart of selfish pride,
take my sins, Your Son has paid,
the price of mercy through suffering and pain.
You gave Him up to Calvary, He died that day, to set me free.
Use me Lord, let me be, a witness of Your love,
give me words, to express my thanks, let me tell of Your forgiving grace.
Open my heart, so I may sing, the praise You’ve longed to hear.
Let Your peace wash my soul, open my heart to your words,
take my sins, Your Son has paid,
the price of mercy through suffering and pain.
You gave Him up to Calvary, He died that day, to give me peace.

Before Christ

BLACK
Blackness covers my heart like the night
a blanket of rage that hides what is right.
It searches for release, this turmoil within,
the frustration of not letting the wrath begin.
I fear the results of what would take place,
should I choose not to continue the race.
My sanity struggles, it hangs on a limb,
sometimes I just wish the black would win.
To let myself go, just let the anger come out,
become free of it all, just kick, scream and
shout.
Be it stranger or friend of this I’ve no doubt,
the destruction of anger, I don’t want this route.
I maintain control of what’s right and what’s wrong.
Hoping that one day peace will come.
